César Ritz Colleges is proud to announce that for the third year in a row, we rank among the top eight institutions in the world for hospitality management, confirming our ever-present determination to offer a world-class education to our students who come to us from around the world.

This achievement is the result of years of excellence in education and commitment from our outstanding faculty, says Tanja Florenthal, Dean, César Ritz Colleges Switzerland.

If 2021 was the first year that our school was ranked among the top 10 schools, our top ranking again in 2022 and 2023 have firmly established our academic reputation. Not only have we progressed from number seven to number six among the top institutions for hospitality and leisure management, but we have maintained our stellar scores for academic and employer reputation.

"These rankings are a statement of the efforts we put into our teaching," explains Dean Florenthal.

What makes César Ritz Colleges Switzerland among the best hospitality schools in the world?

1. Our students are highly appreciated by employers

The dual Swiss model that skillfully integrates theory and practice has proven time and again that it is the approach that get the best results for our students. Our industry partners help us hone a cutting-edge curriculum that incorporates the latest trends in the industry and supports our students’ employability and career development.

Our approach to building the skills and knowledge of our students forges a business mindset that allows them to adapt to the ever-changing milieu of hospitality and to thrive as leaders and trendsetters in a wide assortment of venues.

2. We uphold high academic standards

The strong academic partnerships our school maintains with leading schools in the US and the UK results in our students graduating with a global perspective, able to compete with the best and brightest.

"The better your partners are, the greater your academic recognition is, which leads to exchanges of faculty and students, participation in conferences, and publication in research reviews,"  explains Dean Florenthal.

The better your partners are, the greater your academic recognition is.

We partner with recognized institutions such as Washington State University, one of America’s leading research universities (ranked in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education), and the University of Derby, one of the top 30 universities in the UK.

3. We include sustainability in all aspects of our operations

The future of our business domain, of even our world, belongs with our students, so it is in their best interests to learn sustainability in all aspects of their operations. Sustainability is essential for the future of hospitality, and since 2021, we have been honored to be certified by Green Globe, the highest standard for sustainability worldwide. Our students are often leaders in introducing sustainable practices into their eventual workplaces, one of our proudest attributes.

4. We are committed to innovation

At César Ritz Colleges Switzerland, our academic life is firmly rooted in research, so that we can make meaningful contributions to the development of new advances in our field. Our innovative teaching methods help nurture students’ creativity and critical thinking skills and empower them to think beyond what is possible.

"Our innovative teaching methods help nurture students’ creativity."

Students are frequently challenged to push beyond what they think their limits are, to test models and theories, and to come up with new solutions to old problems. This certainly is one of the main reasons they are so highly valued by their employers.

"We foster innovation at an academic level and ensure innovation skills are fully integrated into the curriculum," adds Dean Florenthal. "We encourage our students to think creatively about how to innovate and fuel deep learning through experiential knowledge."

5. We nurture a strong culture of community

Maintaining a top ranking of academic recognition is only possible with the combined and sustained effort of everyone involved, from operations to academic staff, current students, and alumni. “I am extremely proud of what we continue to accomplish together as a community,” says Dean Florenthal.

I am extremely proud of what we continue to accomplish together as a community.
