César Ritz Colleges Switzerland has partnered with sustainable travel start-up Singular Places to give Master of Arts in Hospitality and Tourism Entrepreneurship students first-hand knowledge and insights into this important, and growing, travel sector.
The partnership reinforces our commitment to promoting sustainability within the hospitality industry by preparing future leaders to take on key roles in this sector.
Our new partner, Singular Places, is an innovative online travel booking platform, already in beta stage, that encourages sustainable travel by connecting travelers with boutique hotels and restaurants that strive to have a positive impact on the environment and support local communities.
An important element of our Master of Arts in Hospitality and Tourism Entrepreneurship program is learning through doing, and equipping students with both the knowledge and practical skills to launch their own business by giving them real-world experiences and connecting them with industry experts. Through a series of masterclasses, Singular Places will share their start-up journey with our students, giving them an opportunity to connect with the team at the heart of this sustainability-focused business, and discuss and analyze the various challenges and successes the booking platform has experienced as they grow their venture. Students will gain first-hand insights into the process of launching a business, host selection, and why the promotion of sustainable travel is so important.
Through this partnership, our master’s students will be given the opportunity to apply their learning in a practical way by collaborating with Singular Places on various future projects, exchanging their ideas and sharing their input. Singular Places will also offer internship positions, so that students can gain valuable industry experience as they further their careers.
"Sustainability is an integral part of the studies at César Ritz Colleges and we are thrilled about partnering with Singular Places. Working with Singular Places will allow students to have direct contact with experts who work with green projects on a daily basis and who will share their knowledge in the classroom,” says César Ritz Colleges Switzerland Dean Tanja Florenthal. “Our campus is Green Globe Certified, meaning that the school’s purpose is to provide excellent hospitality education while managing our impact on the environment and providing the students with the skills to critically think about a sustainable future.”
